WHO WE ARE:
The Placer Sheriff’s Activities League (PSAL) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building positive relationships between law enforcement and young people throughout Placer County. Through meaningful experiences alongside Sheriff’s Office staff, PSAL works to build trust, understanding, and strong relationships while helping youth develop confidence, resiliency, and life skills.
PSAL provides programs and activities at no cost to participants or their families, bringing opportunities directly to local schools and communities. Programs include after-school Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu clubs at E.V. Cain Middle School on Mondays and Tuesdays and Auburn Elementary on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Our summer program is a highlight of the year, giving youth the chance to get outside, try new things, and create lasting memories. Summer activities include field trips, hiking, camping, backpacking, lake days, and other outdoor adventures—all designed to encourage teamwork, confidence, personal growth, and a love for the outdoors.
PSAL programs are made possible through grants, donations, and fundraising events.

Program Strategy
Along with other stakeholders the Placer Sheriff’s Activities League strives to provide youth with valuable life skills. PSAL specifically focuses efforts on mental health, prevention of youth involvement in gangs, and deterrence from drug, alcohol, and tobacco use.
Resources & Personnel
The Placer Sheriff’s Activities League day-to-day operations are the responsibility of the Youth and Community Outreach Deputy. All other PSAL staff are employees of the Sheriff’s Office and have been thoroughly vetted.
