Step-by-Step Process

Step 1

Fill out and turn in an application. Print out the application below or applications can be picked up at the South Placer Substation in Loomis: 6140 Horseshoe Bar Rd. Loomis, CA. 95650 and the Auburn Justice Center: 2929 Richardson Dr. Auburn, CA. 95603. The application can be turned in to either of these locations.

Note: During the application process, applicants have the option of attending a single meeting as an observer only . If the applicant is under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must be present during the observation. This also a good chance to meet the Explorer Advisors and other explorers.

Step 2

Pass the background check. The applicant will be contacted by an Explorer Advisor when your background is clear and provided a LIvescan form.

Step 3

Submit a Livescan/ fingerprints at the Auburn Justice Center; 2929 Richardson Dr Auburn, CA. 95603 or the South Placer Substation; 6140 Horseshoe Bar Rd. Loomis, CA. 95650.

Step 4

Successfully pass an oral interview. The interview will be set up by the Explorer Post Advisor.

Note: At the end of the interview several other forms will be given to the applicant to be filled out before the first meeting they will attend.

Step 5

Once accepted, the applicant will be able to start attending the meetings. The explorer meetings are held every 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at the Auburn Justice Center.
